Mangaluru: Alok Mohan IPS, ADGP (Law and Order) held a press meet to examine the security plans attempted for the ZP and TP races in the Western Range at the Police Commissioner's Office here, on February 17.
Tending to the media persons, ADGP Alok stated, "As of now the principal period of the races have closed in Uttar Kannada and the second stage will be held in Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Chikkamagaluru regions that go under the Western Range (WR). There are 2737 surveying corners in the WR of which 268 are set apart as easily affected, 732 are delicate and 1583 are ordinary. In Mangaluru, 42 stalls are set apart as excessively touchy, 134 delicate and 186 are ordinary corners."
He additionally stated, "There are 164 corners that go under the naxal influenced zones of which, 61 are distinguished in Dakshina Kannada, 64 in Udupi and 39 in Chikkamagaluru. These corners will be watched by unique equipped units and Anti Naxal Force (ANF) will direct routine brushing operations in these regions. We have a solid police drive with 2500 work force and extra 3000 police faculty will be positioned with 2000 home gatekeepers and uncommon commandos amid the race stage."
