Cow slaughter: One more arrested in Bajrang Dal activist Prashant Poojary's murder

Another accused in the murder of a Bajrang Dal activist Prashanth Poojary involved in busting illegal slaughterhouses was arrested on Saturday before he was to fly to Dubai from Mumbai airport. Acting on a look-out circular set by Mangaluru Police to all airports across the country, 40-year-old Mohammad Imtiaz Gantalkatte was picked up by immigration officials at Mumbai airport, ADGP Alok Mohan told reporters here. A team has been sent to Mumbai to bring the accused back to Mangaluru for investigation, he said. With this, nine persons have so far been arrested for the murder of Prashant Poojary, a 29-year old flower vendor who was brutally hacked to death by six bike-borne men at nearby Moodbidri on October nine. Bantwal, Jun 15 : The situation in Kalladka in the taluk, which had witnessed several incidents of disturbances and attacks, has remained calm since the last two days. Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, Bhushan G Borase, said that three additional contingents of Karnataka State Reserve Police force have been summoned from Hassan and Chikkamagalur districts to manage law and order situation in Kalladka. Borase stated that additional director general of police (ADGP) of Karnataka, Alok Mohan, who is in charge of law and order, will be visiting Kalladka on Thursday, June 15 to take stock of the situation. So far, 18 persons stand arrested relating to incidents. The arrested people belong to both the communities that are at loggerheads. Bengaluru: The State Government posted Alok Mohan IPS as the Additional Director-General of Police (ADGP), Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), from Communication, Logistics, and Modernisation. The State government has also transferred another senior official from the ACB, K.V. Sharath Chandra, as IGP, Eastern Range, Davangere.
